Read All About It: Millions Missing
The headlines on newspapers around the world, “Millions of People Missing.” “Where are they?” “Is this a work of aliens from other planets?” “Could there have been some truth to that ‘rapture’ stuff?” All the major television programs carry the stories, “Plane and Car Accidents Everywhere.” “Millions Have Disappeared.” News reporters interview individuals that witness the disappearing of others.
James reports, “I was riding the bus with my wife and two children. All at once, I realized that the bus was veering to the shoulder of the highway. We struck some bushes, which cushioned the impact of our bus, which had been full of passengers. I reached for my wife, but she was not there. For a moment, I thought that she had been knocked to the floor; but to my dismay, on the seat were all of my wife’s clothing and her shoes and socks were lying on the floor. I quickly stood to look at the seat in front of me for the children. They were gone; but again, I saw only their clothes and their little shoes on the floor.” He begins to cry, looks into the TV camera, and whispers, “They along with the bus driver, and the 10 others passengers… have been raptured.” Immediately, the camera turns off of the young man.
These will be examples of the stories following the rapture of the church. Jesus says in Mt. 24:44, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh.” We are encouraged in I Thes. 4 that the people who have died in the Lord will come back with Him. The Lord will “descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God.” I Cor. 15; 52&53 says, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” Brother and sister, we that are here on the earth when Jesus comes will be changed in our bodies. We will receive a glorified body. Those who have died in the Lord, they will come back in their glorified bodies. Hallelujah! This will all happen in an atomic moment. I Thes. 4:17 says, “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
I use to sing a song in our Baptist choir when I was a little girl. The words went, “There’s going to be a meeting in the air, in that sweet, sweet by and by. I’m going to meet you meet you there in that home beyond the skies. Such singing you will hear never heard by mortal ear, twill be glorious I do declare. And God’s own Son will be the leading One at that meeting in the air.” Well, praise God.
“So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation” (Heb. 9:28). Are you looking for Him? I believe that if you are, you will keep yourself pure before the Lord. Remember, only the people who have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior will meet Him in the rapture. All others will be left behind. Oh, what a tragedy; such suffering for those. BUT, you can be ready. Ask Jesus to come into your heart to be your Lord and Savior. Live for Him. If you have sin in your life, confess it to Jesus, and He will wash you and make you pure and clean. Be ready. Don’t be one of those who wait for “the more convenient day to be saved” and find yourself crying, “Oh, my God, I’ve been left behind.”
