My Declaration of Independence (Part II)

Our July issue reminded us of the people who had settled in the Eastern lands of North America with a desire for freedom and peace. The British rule had demanded submission to the king and to the powers of the Roman Catholic Church. These authorities demanded monies and an obedience of the ruling religion. God dealt with people to leave this bondage and to move to this new land with a vision for the freedom of worship and deliverance from a dictator and his government. Simply coming to America did not give them the freedoms that they desired. The British continued to control them by demanding allegiance to the King in paying taxes, etc. The Lord ordered the steps of our founding forefathers in the new land of America to stand for their freedom. Freedom was gained in their united efforts against the enemy that would oppose them, and most of all, a trust in their Almighty God.

Many people are in bondage to an evil ruler, satan, simply because they have not accepted Jesus Christ as Lord, Who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (Jn. 14:6). …But many Christians are walking in bondage, too, because they do not know Truth. Yes, they know Jesus as their Savior, but they do not know their Covenant, the Bible, the Truth. They do not know Jesus as Deliverer, Redeemer, Healer, Provider, … We even read in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because thou hast rejected knowledge…” It is not just having head knowledge of the Bible (Truth), but to acknowledge the Word as Truth for me, personally. Scripture also tells us to “be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” (Jms. 1:22) Did you realize that without knowing the Word as personal Truth, we can shout about the Promises of God and not experience one of them (except for being born again and going to heaven), even though, as children of God, we have a right to all of the Promises found in His Word? II Corinthians 1:20 tells us, “For all the promises of God in him are yea (yes), and in him Amen (so be it) unto the glory of God by us.” So, do we really believe, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage” (Gal. 5:1)? Notice the words “made us free.” This statement means that freedom was already provided for the child of God. The yoke of bondage to the devil IS broken. No longer should any bondage hold us as prisoners because Jesus already destroyed the chains of fear, worry, sickness, lack, brokenness, depression, etc! Yes, we could go on and on as to what our Lord has done for us through His death and resurrection!

Are you struggling with some kind of bondage? Remember, Jesus said that He had been sent “to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised…” (Isa 61:1) It is time for you to declare your independence from satan. He has no legal right to hold the child of God in his bondage. Write down the Promises(s) of God for you, personally, and then declare (broadcast) them out loud over and over, every day until you see God’s Word manifest in your life. (to be continued).
