A Call to Prayer and Fasting (January 2021)
I know many of us wonder what 2021 holds for us, our nation, and the world at large. Will things worsen? Will things get better? Will there be more abortions, business closings, deaths, ...? Will there be the great revival that we at Bringing to Light have been declaring for 43 years? I certainly do not have the answers to any of these questions; but this one thing I do know, we that belong to the Lord, the Great and Almighty, holds our future in the palm of His mighty hand. I will also declare that prayer and fasting can usher in God's best into every situation. Will you join Robert, me, and many others in a time of prayer and fasting? We will begin Monday, January 4 through Monday, January 25. (You may choose what dates work best for you.) We will be doing a Daniel fast; no bread, no sweets, and no meat.
We read in Daniel 10 that Daniel fasted 21 days. A man appeared to Daniel. I personally believe that this man was Jesus. This man said to Daniel following his fast, "Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words." What do you desire for 2021? Let us declare these things unto our God with prayer and fasting. I believe that the Lord will come for our words as He did for Daniel’s. Please read Isaiah 58 to see the Promises to those who fast. Please pray and declare the prayer points found under Prayer Requests.
I have been pondering Number 21. The Scripture says that Daniel was fasting for “three entire weeks.” In other words, he fasted three weeks of seven days each; 21 days. Three and seven means perfect, complete, and fulfilled. We have entered this New Year of 2021. Could the Lord be wrapping up His will for the Church this year? I don’t know, but let us pray and fast that our Lord’s perfect will, will be completed and fulfilled, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
