Overcoming in Christ (Sept., 2021)
This is certainly a season where there is much trouble on every side. Do you talk to anybody that is not dealing with serious situations? What is going on? I certainly don’t have the answers, but I can assure you that Jesus is getting the church ready for the catching away (the rapture). Jesus is coming for a “glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish” (Eph. 5:27). We are certainly being shaken. Church, we must place our eyes upon the Lord and allow Him to do His perfect work in our lives, even in the midst of our storms. This is not the time to turn from Him but more so, to turn to Him.
The Bible tells us that the accuser (satan) is cast down, but the people of God “overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…” (Rev. 12:10&11). Demons are certainly working overtime attempting to overcome us, but we have what is necessary in Christ to walk in the victory that He provided. “…For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” (1 Jn. 3:8). In other words, He did destroy the works of the devil. The Blood of the Lamb washed away all sin. All one need do is accept the finished work of Jesus, allowing Him to be their Lord. Amen!!! We overcome when we make sure that our sins are confessed and know that they are washed away by the blood of Jesus.
Did you know that anti-venom for snake bites is often made from sheep’s blood? That is a natural fact. A man recently shared the following story. “A rattlesnake bit one of my sheep in the face about a week ago. The rattlesnake is one of the deadliest snakes that live around here. The sheep’s face swelled up and hurt her terribly. The old rattlesnake didn’t know the kind of blood that flows through the sheep. The sheep swelled for about two days, but the blood of the lamb destroyed the venom of the serpent! Often the serpents of this life will reach out and bite us. They inject their poison into us, but they cannot overcome the Blood of the Lamb of God that washes away the sin of the world and the sting of death. Don’t worry about the serpent or his bite, just make sure that the Lamb’s Blood is flowing through your veins.” Make sure your sins are forgiven. Amen!!!
The Scripture said that we overcome also by “the word of their testimony”. We are called to declare God’s Promises; not as we or others view the situation, but what does God’s Word say? Is that what we are speaking? The devil says that you are defeated. God says, “You are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” (Rom. 8:37). The devil says that you will die of that disease. God says, “I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the Lord” (Ps. 118:17). The devil says that your situation is impossible. The Lord says, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23). Brothers and sisters, the Lord is calling you and me to overcome in Him.
